GR®653 - Via Tolosana - Voie d'Arles

The Voie d'Arles, also known as the Via Tolosana or GR®653, is one of the four great French routes to Compostela. It runs from Arles to the Col du Somport over nearly 780 kilometres, crossing the Pyrenees at the only mountain pass on these Camino routes — the Somport at 1,632m. Less frequented than the Via Podiensis, it appeals to those looking for more solitude on the road. The path is well waymarked and sufficiently served by accommodation, though some sections remain isolated. Works in aeroplane mode to save battery — useful on the long stages between villages.
