Alta Via 2 - Dolomites

Description

Nicknamed the Alta Via delle Leggende, this is the highest and most demanding of the great Dolomites traverses, noticeably more committing than the Alta Via 1. The route strings together cabled passages, a few via ferrata sections and exposed stretches where a helmet and light climbing gear are sometimes useful. It is walked self-sufficiently from hut to hut, without crossing a resupplied valley over long sections. The guide covers the whole route with the huts and resupply points, along with the variants that bypass the most technical passages. It suits hikers comfortable on high-mountain terrain and used to exposure. Mobile coverage is absent across much of the high route, so the guide works offline, essential where there is no signal.
