GR®738 - Haute Traversée de Belledonne

Description

One of the most demanding high-mountain crossings in the Northern Alps, hugging the Belledonne ridgeline over terrain that is often technical and lightly travelled. It is meant for seasoned hikers, comfortable with rocky passes and steep sections and self-reliant in the mountains. Accommodation alternates between staffed refuges and free unstaffed cabins, and resupply is scarce once you leave the valley floors. The guide covers the whole route with refuges, cabins and resupply points. Mobile coverage is absent across the high sections and remote areas, so the guide works offline.
