Tour des Muverans

Description

A high-mountain circuit that links a series of demanding passes right around the massif, over alpine terrain of steep trails, moraine and cabled sections. The route calls for a sure foot and solid fitness, with some stretches holding snow late into the season. Lodging relies on staffed Swiss Alpine Club huts that need booking, as beds are limited and the loop can be walked in either direction. Resupply is scarce once you leave the trailhead, so most food must be carried for several days. The guide covers the whole loop with the huts, water points and passes. Mobile coverage is absent across much of the route, so the guide works offline.
