Arrival

Pollença

Duration5 days
Elevation gain5437 m
Distance136 km

Description

The dry-stone route crosses the Serra de Tramuntana from west to east, along old cobbled mule paths lined with dry-stone walls. The terrain is dry and rocky, with long paved climbs and a few sections that are still unwaymarked or cross private estates. The route's refuges are run by the Consell de Mallorca and must be booked in advance, as places are limited in spring and autumn. Wild camping and bivouac are banned across the whole island, so the route is walked from one refuge to the next. The guide covers the entire route with refuges, accommodation and resupply points. Mobile coverage is absent on the high, isolated sections of the Serra, so the guide works offline.
