GR400 - Tour du Massif Cantalien

Description

A well-marked loop around Europe's largest volcano, circling the Cantal mountains. The terrain is mid-mountain, with sustained elevation gain and exposed high pastures where the route rarely stays flat. Accommodation and resupply are found in the villages along the way and thin out on the higher sections. The loop is walked clockwise by default. The guide covers the full circuit with accommodation, resupply points and the bivouac rules of the Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne. Mobile coverage is patchy on the high, remote sections, so the guide works offline.
