Tour du Vieux Chaillol

Description

A GR® de Pays waymarked in yellow and red, noticeably quieter than the GR®54 that circles the same range. The route alternates high mountain sections with passages through villages, with several passes and a few days of sustained climbing. It crosses the core area of the Écrins National Park. Refuges and village guesthouses follow at regular intervals, but water points are irregular on the higher parts. The guide covers the full loop along with the variant via the Refuge du Tourond, including accommodation and resupply points. Mobile coverage is absent over much of the route, so the guide works offline.
