Tour du Canigó

Description

A hut-to-hut loop around the Canigó massif, waymarked in yellow and red. The path stays on the flanks and does not reach the summit, which is climbed as an out-and-back from the Cortalets hut. Every stage ends at a hut, so there is no need to carry camping gear. The full height gain is repeated each day, with no valley-floor link sections. The guide covers the whole loop with the huts, water points and road access. Mobile coverage is absent along much of the route, and the guide works offline. Bivouac: tolerated near huts and waymarked paths, from sunset to sunrise. In the Catalan nature reserves, dogs, fires and the picking of flowers, fruit, mushrooms, insects and fossils are prohibited.
